Food Friday-Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie

Nestled away in the France pavilion is a little…well not so little anymore…bakery we like to call “Les Halles.” Inside, the sweet aroma of pastries and sandwiches instantly welcomes you. This quick service restaurant is filled with the most gorgeous and delicious food! I just can’t say enough good things about this quaint French bakery.

We must go past Les Chefs and to the left and down the “alley”…

We’ve arrived!

A few years ago, the French bakery was transformed into the current Les Halles, which is larger and has a bigger queue area. This means, more room for goodies! Lots of delicious, rich goodies!

You’re going to have a tough time choosing, I promise. This is normal.

My personal favorite: Mousse au Chocolat

Citron

Les Halles is good for a quick service meal that feels more luxurious. Or when you’re just in the mood for a nice dessert…or 5…Les Halles always does the trick! My family and I have similar tastes, so we split a few different items on every trip.

Croque Monsieur…better than it looks, but I prefer Be Our Guest’s version of this dish!

Savory options include sandwiches on fresh baguettes, such as the Jambon Beurre (a fancier ham and cheese), and soups such as Bisque d’Homard (lobster bisque). Other unique options are a cheese plate and you can even order  a full baguette for $2.95! When I’m hungry for an actual meal, I’ll usually get a sandwich or soup, with one dessert. I definitely recommend you do the same so you can try a variety of the food!

Side note: The seating here can be a bit like the Hunger Games. Trying to find a seat on busy days can feel nearly impossible and even exhausting. My family definitely doesn’t like to be like vultures swooping in on a table that looks like they’re nearly done, but if you want to sit down to enjoy your food, you’re going to have to strategically plan. Always smile and be friendly when you’re trying to get a table. I’ve seen way too many people barge their way in and basically stay on top of people as they’re trying to finish their desserts. Common courtesy goes a long way these days! 🙂

Yes, ice cream macaron sandwiches are a thing here. This IS Disney, after all. Dreams come true here!

Don’t forget about L’Artisan des Glaces, which is next door! I personally always get WAY too full for ice cream, but I am going to try it next trip (I always tell myself this)! Also, I eat ice cream often in everyday life so I prefer to get a different treat when I’m on vacation.

Another favorite part of the whole France pavilion experience is the fact that I get to practice my French whenever I’m there. This is always very exciting for me since I’m a huge French nerd (I took about 7 years of it during middle and high school)! I always ask for my food in French “”Je prends…”) and say “Salut” to the CMs who are working in the gift shop. They used to find these attempts “cute” when I was younger but lately, I’ve been fooling them. Or they’re just being nice about my accent. 😉

After I’ve enjoyed my meal, it’s time for a showing of my favorite 80s circle vision show: Impressions de France! I seriously wish I had been alive during the 80s and this show makes me wish that more each time! The windbreakers, the bright colors, I love it all!

Not even sorry anymore! I mean, who can resist a French flag of balloons!

Au revoir and have a pixie dusted weekend!
